Read-In/Write-In

Friday we had a special day where we read and wrote all day.  Students shared their writing.  Here one is sharing her story from a class book we wrote about a character they invented Pizza Man.

There were many many parents who joined throughout the day to read.  It was so fun to hear stories from around the world in different languages, and what first grader does not love having his or her parent be a special guest in the classroom?!  We also had one Mystery Reader.  The children´s preschool teacher could not make it so she recorded herself reading a book on CD.  The students guessed who she was as soon as she read the title of the book!
