Christmas with the Guards

Once a week I work on English with the guards.  This week I decided to have a little Christmas party.  We had some sweets and they had to say the English word before they could eat. :)  We also played matching games with words and pictures telling the story of Jesus' birth.  It was a lot of fun!

Class Christmas

First we went to my house to watch A Charlie Brown Christmas.

We also had a little Christmas photo booth there thanks to my amazing photographer friend Lauren!

The classroom was ready for part two of the party.

Each student buys a gift for the workers and their families who help out at our school.  This includes the guards and maids.  Then we invite them to our class party and present them with the gifts.

We sang happy birthday to one of our students and then to Jesus.

One student´s family made a special cake for Jesus.

I made snowman playdoh for each student.  Many of the students have never seen snow and think it is the coolest thing ever!

Christmas at the Nursing Home

Our students went to the nursing home to sing some of their Christmas songs for the residents and to give them Christmas cards.

8th Grade Buddies

The 8th graders came to help 1st grade finish making their finger puppets and tell the story of Jesus birth.
